Hospedia signs $3.25 million contract with JAOtech to renew bedside terminal estate
JAOtech today announced that it has won an initial contract with Hospedia, the UK's largest patient bedside entertainment provider, to renew patient bedside terminals in its estate over 150 NHS hospitals across the UK. The initial contract is worth $3.25 million over twelve months, and is the first phase in a program by Hospedia to renew its estate of terminals that will benefit up to 10 million patients a year.

JAOtech named Start-Up of the Year at top Technology Awards
JAOtech was named Start-Up of the Year at the prestigious Electronics Weekly Elektra awards in London – the third award in a month for the young Redhill-based company. Making the award, the judges were impressed by JAOtech's progress in developing the market for its patient entertainment terminals increasing its sales ten-fold in 2008-9, shipping well over 30,000 to hospitals and clinics. They commented, "This year it acquired a company in the US to strengthen its presence in this important market, and opened local customer support centres in Australia, France and the Netherlands."

New Jersey hospital selects JAOtech for second generation patient bedside terminal roll-out
Holy Name hospital of Teaneck, New Jersey has selected JAOtech Smart Terminals for its second generation bedside entertainment and communication system. Holy Name hospital is one of the US pioneers of patient bedside all-in-one computers, and the 340 JAOtech Jima units replace its existing six year old terminal estate, upgrading the entertainment system enabling future access to patient electronic medical records.

Sheffield hospital uses JAOtech Smart Terminals to access Electronic Medical Records

JAOtech has introduced a new camera shutter to provide total privacy to patients using the Obie and Jima Smart Terminals by rendering the optional camera completely inoperative. Cameras can be integrated into JAOtech's bedside Smart Terminals for video calls between patients and relatives or friends, and to allow medical staff to monitor patients' well-being. The new camera shutter slides completely over the lens to disable use and has been introduced to conform with current European privacy standards.
