The new CircuitMedic Micro Drill system from Intertronics is versatile and powerful – making it ideal for milling, drilling, grinding, cutting and sanding circuit boards. It removes coating, cuts circuits, cuts leads, drills holes, cuts slots, shapes FR4 and performs many other procedures using various interchangeable bits.
As technologies develop in industries such as electronics, energy, packaging, medical devices, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals and automotive, Intertronics have understood the need for ever more precise, reliable dispensing of micro quantities of adhesives and similar materials.
These days, we can find microcapsules in almost every industrial sector, where they take numerous roles. However, dispensing these fragile materials can be a problem since clearly it is important that the microcapsules be undamaged by the dispensing process. In adhesive technology, microcapsules can fulfil several functions. For example, microcapsules may be an integral part of the control of reaction and curing processes. Some anaerobic "threadlocking" adhesives contain microcapsules.
Intertronics have today announced the release of a new whitepaper on the technology of high precision, high repeatability in the dispensing of fluids, pastes and 2 part mixes – even with abrasive fillers. The paper describes the concept and execution of such a system with notes on its use and application.

The newest product launched by Intertronics is the preeflow eco-DUO450 which offers precision metering and mixing of two component materials with dial-in ratios up to 5:1. This is expected to be of value where expensive materials such as silver loaded conductive epoxies, silicones or polyurethanes are dispensed in small quantities for either dots or beads.
At first glance the eco-PEN series of preeflow volumetric dosing dispensers from Intertronics appear to be very similar and this is largely true with the eco-PEN 300, 450 and 600 all showing the same better than 1% accuracy through ViscoTec's unique patented "endless piston" design. However, there are subtle and important differences to be considered; in particular the eco-PEN 300 is suited to a wide range of low to high viscosity materials making it ideal for application of dots and beads with maximum volumetric precision and to joint sealing technologies adaptable to track speeds.
Low cost versatile robots are becoming increasingly popular in the production environment and this latest Fisnar F5200N gantry model from Intertronics offers huge flexibility for dispensing operations. It joins the largest range of dispensing robots for a tremendous range of applications, including form-in-place gaskets, adhesives, potting, coating and filling.
Increasing production throughput of bonded plastic assemblies is high on the list of priorities these days for both design and production engineers judging from the experience of the adhesive specialists at Intertronics. In these situations Intertronics are delighted to offer the DYMAX Ultra Light-Weld 3069 which is a UV/Visible light-curable adhesive designed for rapid bonding and laminating of a variety of plastic substrates. This high performance, solvent-free adhesive cures in seconds to enable faster processing, increased output and lower processing costs.

Specialist applications include LED protection, bonding of surgical instruments like endoscopes and fibre-optic terminating.
The relentless march of Moore's Law and the spread of application for high power electronic devices – especially the widening use of LED's, increasingly bring forward the problem of heat dissipation. This is where high performance electronic grade thermal transfer silicones and silicone grease can be the first best hope in thermal management – a situation very familiar to the engineers at Intertronics.
Intertronics has a solution for manufacturers seeking to spray coat low viscosity materials at close tolerances, such as for conformal coatings or inks in low value production and prototyping applications.
Intertronics has found solvent-free, UV curable temporary masking resins to significantly simplify component masking processes while greatly reducing costs. The new 3 axis Fisnar F4200N from Intertronics is such a machine – now available for less than £4000 it is expected to interest engineers in all industries especially for adhesive dispensing/application tasks in environments from research labs to electronic production lines and component assembly e.g. for form-in-place gaskets, adhesives, coatings, potting, filling and shielding.
The DYMAX Ultra-Red technology is based on the fact that many plastics naturally fluoresce blue under UV light – this minimizes the inspection advantages of using blue-fluorescing adhesives in parts assembly, red fluorescing adhesives however remain naturally clear until exposed to UV light, at which point they fluoresce bright red providing a vivid contrast that permits accurate bond-line inspection. The red fluorescence does not absorb the same light energy wavelengths as those used to cure the adhesive, resulting in faster and deeper cures when compared with the same adhesives containing blue fluorescence.
Intertronics specialize in adhesives for high-tech, high-performance industries such as medical device assembly companies, so they are particularly pleased to announce a complete system of UV adhesives and LED curing from technology partner DYMAX specifically with assembly of medical devices in mind.
With low cost benchtop robotics playing a significant part in cost-reduced/quality-upgraded small scale production, this new Robotics Catalogue from Intertronics will interest engineers in all industries.
With a particular focus toward harsh duty electronics, the specialists at Intertronics have recently introduced the next generation of fast room-temperature-cure electronics adhesives from sales partner DYMAX. The BlueWave 75 from Intertronics is a new high-power UV spot curing lamp, which provides the optimal combination of low operating cost with high-intensity output to accommodate a wide variety of bonding applications and UV cure adhesives. This lamp transmits less energy onto the substrates resulting in cooler UV curing, a feature especially beneficial in applications that are sensitive to heat. The DYMAX BlueWave 75 includes a unique feature which provides precise user adjustment of light intensity to assist in process validation and control.
Intertronics, together with their technology partner Fisnar, have successfully addressed one of the factors affecting the accuracy of dispensing high viscosity fluids with standard parallel-sided dispensing needles. Standard stainless steel needles have a steep pressure restriction at the part of their cross-section where the needle joins the hub, leading to a high pressure requirement to generate flow and a high residual pressure in the needle when the feed pressure is cut – leading to continued "oozing" from the needle tip.
The adhesives specialists at Intertronics have been involved for a long time in the development of LED-powered curing systems, which are continuing to evolve towards the replacement of the conventional lamp-style curing systems that have been the industry standard for more than twenty-five years. This growth in popularity of LED curing equipment is driven by promises of lower operating costs and "green" benefits. Experts are predicting LED curing systems will evolve over time to dominate the light-curable adhesive field – a prediction with which Intertronics M.D. Peter Swanson agree and explains: "The much reduced life cycle costs and greatly enhanced process controllability of LED cure systems represent such major advances over arc-light technology that it seems certain LEDs will continue to replace these arc based processes."
The BlueWave® LED Prime UVA high-intensity spot-curing system features many advantages over conventional spot-curing systems including no consumable bulbs to change, no warm-up, cool cures, and constant intensity for thousands of hours.
SpeedMask® 730-BT from Intertronics is a DYMAX masking resin, formulated to provide excellent surface protection during chemical milling/etching, plating, anodizing, and aggressive grit-blasting operations, thus aiding in the manufacturing, overhaul, repair and rework of turbine engine blades, vanes and other turbine components, as well as many other metal finishing applications. 730-BT is impervious to most acid and alkali solutions. This next-generation maskant is trimmable for complex configurations while still maintaining edge tension to prevent leakage and damage to the substrate underneath.
The Adhesives and Dispensing experts at Intertronics once again lead the market with the new DYMAX Multi-Cure 987 conformal coating which meets the requirements of MIL-1-46058C and IPC-CC-830B.
