GTK launches new Resistive Glass Touchscreen Technology
GTK announced the launch of its new 4 and 5 wire glass/film/glass resistive touchscreen product range. These touchscreen overlays are used in conjunction with graphical TFT displays and are ideal for use in many Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications and portable hand held products. This resistive touchscreen technology offers a number of advantages over projected capacitive technology in terms of user interface, simplicity of design and cost. It has an armoured scratch resistant glass surface making it as durable as capacitive, but can be activated by finger, glove or stylus pressure. The GTK touchscreen is available in standard 3.5", 4.3" and 7" sizes, but GTK can also provide the product in custom sizes if required.
GTK RJ45-USB Socket saves valuable PCB space
The dual right angle RJ45-USB socket from GTK reduces the required PCB footprint, enabling engineers and designers to save "real estate" on new product designs. This product is available in either USB 1.1 or 2.0 standards enabling data transmission speeds of 12Mbps and 480Mbps respectively. GTK announced the launch of a new 27 colour negative mode field sequential LCD product into the market. The new module is fully customisable and offers exceptional performance characteristics including a 200:1 contrast ratio, response time of 7 ms and wide viewing angles. It has an integral RGB backlight and in full colour operation can withstand an operating temperature range of between 0 to 700C. If used in 4 colour mode, the temperature range extends to between -20 to 800C.

GTK Launches USB 3.0 Connector Range

PoweredUSB connection systems provide a single cable connection that supplies both the standard USB communication signals and two additional wire pairs for extra power. This is sufficient for mice and keyboards, but not when the power requirements exceed 500mA. GTK, the manufacturer of low cost, high reliability interconnect devices and displays is now launching a custom fabrication service with the aim of adding value and reducing time to market for its customers. The company now has the capability to produce sub-assemblies or full product assembly including product development and engineering. PCB encapsulation using insert moulding can be performed; and custom displays – LCD or LED – can be created and delivered even for relatively low order quantity requirements.
GTK to supply latest HDMI technology cables
HDMI cables are now available from connector and cable assembly specialist GTK. HDMI technology integrates all video and sound signals onto a single, thin cable, making it easy to connect components together. In addition, everything on an HDMI cable assembly remains in its original, uncompressed digital format: signals are no longer converted from digital to analog (in order to run through the cables) and then back to digital.
Magnetic filtered RJ45 modular jacks
Connector and LED specialist GTK has just released its new line of magnetic filtered RJ45 modular jacks for high-speed Ethernet data applications. Devices offer improved electrical performance with a maximum contact resistance of 30mΩ at 100mA DC and a minimum insulation resistance at 1000MΩ at 500V DC. Current rating is 3A, with parts operating between -55 and 105degC.
Low-cost socketing system for high-end ICs
Expanding on its 2go range, connector manufacturer GTK has released a low cost IC socketing system in the form of the Turned Pin IC socket. The parts, which are RoHS-compliant, are more reliable than conventional stamped and formed pin sockets due to a more robust contact construction. This is said to enable a safe and cost-effective system for socketing expensive ICs or holding the firmware during the debugging phase of a new design.
