Market availability of bi-directional Dolphin platformEnOcean GmbH, developer of batteryless wireless technology, today announced the market availability of its new Dolphin platform. For the first time, the Dolphin system architecture enables the use of bi-directional, self-powered wireless sensors and actuators meaning EnOcean sensor modules can transmit information as well as receive it. This creates the basis for innovative wireless applications in building and industrial automation, medical engineering and countless other markets. EnOcean is presenting the new Dolphin platform at the Light+Building 2010 show in Frankfurt am Main (hall 9 booth B40). EnOcean Alliance and BACnet International to Develop Interoperability Specification for Integrating Wireless/Wired Building SystemsBACnet International and the EnOcean Alliance , an international consortium of 130 companies from the building sector, today announced its cooperation with BACnet's Wireless Networking-Working Group (WN-WG) to develop a vendor independent gateway specification for integrating EnOcean-based wireless energy-harvesting nodes into the world's leading data communications protocol for building automation and control. As the only wireless standard offering self-powered operation, EnOcean technology requires neither batteries nor maintenance, thus opening the floodgate to wide-scale deployment of wireless sensing-solutions in commercial buildings, including BACnet-based building automation systems. EnOcean Alliance Shows Innovative Wireless HVAC Solutions at AHR Expo 2010The EnOcean Alliance , an international consortium of 130 companies from the building sector, announces the participation of several Alliance member companies at the upcoming AHR Expo , to be held in Orlando, FL on January 25-27, 2010. Echoflex Solutions Inc, EnOcean Inc, Illumra, Kieback & Peter and BSC Magnum will demonstrate a broad range of the latest EnOcean-based monitoring and control products for HVAC/R applications in booth 1370. Focussing on the energy-saving potential in buildings, products on display will include building energy-management solutions based on EnOcean's new Dolphin system platform; HVAC monitoring and controls; wireless actuators as well as EnOcean-BACnet based solutions for HVAC. First open specification for battery-less wireless sensorsThe EnOcean Alliance is publishing the first global, open specification for energy harvesting wireless sensors which ensures interoperability between products of different manufacturers: EnOcean equipment profiles (EEPs). The specification, devised jointly by the members of the EnOcean Alliance, is public and accessible for anyone. It contains 50 equipment profiles supporting the development of a variety of solutions for building automation, such as switches, remote controls, sensors, sensor combinations and data of every kind. Publication of the specification is the first step taken by the EnOcean Alliance towards an international standard. Member of EnOcean Alliance Wins Double Award at M&E 2009The EnOcean Alliance has announced the achievements of EnOcean self-powered wireless technology at The Working Buildings Innovation Awards 2009. The EnOcean-enabled SENSOLUX system from PEHA was awarded in two categories – 'Best innovation in green product or service' and 'Best innovation in building services'. Held in association with Premises and Facilities Management magazine, the award ceremony took place on Wednesday 7 October in the Facilities Management Academy, London Olympia.
EDK 300 - New developer's kit for energy-autonomous applicationsEnOcean GmbH is presenting its EDK 300 developer's kit for the new bidirectional Dolphin platform. The new kit enables developers to implement energy-autonomous products even easier and faster, assuring them a competitive lead to market. The developer's kit supports the bidirectional TCM 300, TCM 320 and STM 300 modules, and is available immediately.
