DIGI International Rabbit Introduces Wireless Communications and Control System on Chip for Industrial Automation ApplicationsRabbit, a Digi International brand, today introduced the Rabbit 6000, the industry's first embedded wireless communications and control System on Chip (SoC) ideal for industrial automation applications. The Rabbit 6000 combines wireless communications and an industrial control feature set on a single chip to reduce the time to market of network-enabled industrial devices. Rabbit will release versions of its popular MiniCore series of easy-to-use, ultra-compact, low-profile, low-cost networking modules based on this new processor. Digi Launches Foolproof Programmable ZigBee ModuleDigi International today introduced the programmable XBee-PRO ZB, the industry's first foolproof programmable ZigBee® module for easy and safe ZigBee application development. Customer applications can be programmed directly on the module, eliminating the need and cost of a separate processor and reducing time-to-market. Because the Digi-provided wireless software is isolated, customers can easily develop applications with no risk to RF performance and security. As part of iDigi™, customers can also use the iDigi platform to easily integrate XBee®ZigBee endpoints into their systems. SolarEdge and Digi International Collaborate on a Full Connectivity Solution for Photovoltaic SystemsDigi International (NASDAQ: DGII) and SolarEdge today announced their collaboration on full connectivity solutions for photovoltaic (PV) systems, including data harvesting from revenue-grade power meters, PV inverter mesh networking and future interaction with the Smart Grid. Digi Introduces Smart Energy Gateway Family for EuropeDigi International introduced the ConnectPort X Wireless M-Bus gateway family for Smart Metering applications in Europe. Featuring versions with cellular, Ethernet and Wireless M-Bus connectivity, ConnectPort X with Wireless M-Bus gateways can easily and cost effectively connect electricity, gas and water meters to an energy service provider via broadband. The products seamlessly integrate with the iDigi™ Energy wireless M2M solutions bundle which features the hosted software and services necessary to quickly and easily integrate Smart Grid devices into enterprise business applications. With the addition of Wireless M-Bus, Digi now offers gateways that support all major European wireless standards used for Smart Metering applications.
Digi Introduces An Industry First Smart Energy GatewayDigi International introduced the ConnectPort X2 for Smart Energy gateway. It is a ZigBee Smart Energy certified gateway that easily connects certified ZigBee Smart Energy devices from a Home Area Network (HAN) to an energy service provider via broadband. It is the industry's first gateway that connects, controls, or gathers data from ZigBee Smart Energy devices equally well before or with Smart Meter deployments. When a Smart Meter is present the gateway can make meter information immediately available to any energy management application. As part of iDigi™ Energy, energy service providers can use the ConnectPort X2 for Smart Energy and iDigi platform to easily integrate thermostats, smart meters, in-home displays, load controllers and other ZigBee Smart Energy devices into complete energy management systems. Digi Enables Wireless Connectivity of Massa Remote Storage Tank Monitoring SensorsDigi International today announced that Massa Products Corporation is using its XBee RF modules to enable wireless remote access to storage tank information. The module is integrated into Massa's M3 battery-operated wireless tank level sensor and features the necessary drivers for easy deployment into challenging environments. It allows the sensors to communicate with Digi's line of ConnectPort® X gateways, including cellular, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and satellite versions, for backhauling data to a customer's network. Digi's Spectrum Design Solutions Collaborates with Qualcomm to Promote Wireless M2M Designs Incorporating Gobi TechnologyDigi International has announced that Spectrum Design Solutions, Digi's wireless consulting group and a leading embedded cellular integrator, is developing machine-to-machine (M2M) designs using Qualcomm's Gobi™ modules and working with Qualcomm to promote such M2M designs and Qualcomm's Gobi technology. Gobi technology provides global, multi-mode 3G connectivity for High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and Evolution-Data Optimized (EVDO) networks in a single module. This enables a device such as an embedded gateway to support multiple cellular networks for data connectivity throughout the world and minimizes risk by allowing customers to support a different standard in the future than initially selected. Spectrum expects to help customers reduce time-to-market of Gobi-enabled wireless M2M products by up to 50 percent. Digi Core Module Speeds Development of Low Power Wireless Multimedia DevicesDigi International today introduced the ConnectCore Wi-MX51, the industry's first core module designed specifically for low power, wireless multimedia applications. It is the industry's first wireless enabled core module based on Freescale's new high-performance i.MX51 processor, first to offer 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and first to support Microsoft's new Windows CE 6.0 R3. The ConnectCore Wi-MX51 enables wired and Wi-Fi networking for low power embedded applications with demanding performance requirements such as displays within medical devices, digital signage, security/access control devices, point-of-sale equipment and industrial automation technology. Digi Console Server Earns Security Certification for Government and Other Regulated Industry ApplicationsDigi International today announced that it has received Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2 security certification for the Digi Passport console server from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This stringent third-party security certification makes the Digi Passport ideal for data center management in government, healthcare, financial and other regulated industries. Rabbit Expands MiniCore Family of Ultra-Compact, Low Cost Wired and Wireless Networking ModulesRabbit today announced the expansion of its MiniCore series of easy to use ultra compact, low profile, low-cost networking modules. Available in pin-compatible wired and Wi-Fi versions, the family now includes the Ethernet RCM5760 and Wi-Fi RCM5650W. The new modules offer increased memory for data intensive applications such as building automation and security applications where it is necessary to store large amounts of data. The products also allow a customer to wirelessly update firmware from anywhere an Internet connection is available to reduce maintenance costs. |
