Acal BFi annonce les premiers échantillons du plus petit serveur embarqué au monde : le xPico. Ce module de la taille d'une puce intègre une application serveur de périphérique embarquée, un serveur web et une pile IP complète, ainsi les OEM peuvent ajouter de la connexion Ethernet à quasiment tous les périphériques ayant une interface série. Le module a un encombrement de seulement 24 mm x 16,5 mm et supporte l'intégration rapide de solutions réseaux compactes et robustes sans développement logiciel et avec un minimum d'ingénierie.
Acal BFi est le premier distributeur à disposer d'échantillons du PremierWave-XN de Lantronix, nouveau serveur de périphérique multi-port double bande aux normes 802.11n. Manufactured in brass base-metal, Terrapin connectors are crush-resistant and feature IP68 sealing on both halves, to prevent contamination by water or dirt when mated and unmated or with over-moulding; the 2000+ mating cycle is four times greater than MIL-C standard bayonet and thread coupling connectors; whilst black silver-plating provides superior EMC performance as well as a low-lustre, non-reflective finish which is salt-spray resistant for 1000 hours.

Before joining the company he held the position of Head of Product Management at Electrocomponents Plc., where he was responsible for the implementation of electronics strategy throughout Europe and APAC and the introduction of over 60000 new products to their range. During his career Webster has held senior level management roles including Vice President of Marketing, EMEA for Avnet Inc., and sales and marketing roles at the Macro Group and ITT Electronic Services.

The Pool-Mate 'swimming computer' eliminates the need for swimmers to press buttons to record performance data whilst in the pool. Using the Bosch Sensortec BMA020 triaxial accelerometer IC, the Pool-Mate displays and stores the session time, average strokes per length, speed, distance, calories and efficiency as well as rest times between lengths for the overall session, and for each individual set.

ACAL Technology in partnership with Napier Technology Marketing & PR supported students at the University of Chichester with a project to develop B2B virals. 7 groups were tasked with developing a short viral to highlight the lighter element of designing electronics. These were to be targeted at the Electronics engineering community.
ACAL Technology, and Napier Partnership Ltd, have co- sponsored the media production course at the University of Chichester. The students were tasked to create fun viral videos incorporating silicon chips and other electronic components in order to promote ACAL Technology. Each video was judged on various criteria, including production quality and the likelihood that it would spread virally, by a panel of judges from ACAL and Napier, and the winning team was awarded £100 worth of iTunes vouchers.
