Torex Semiconductor has launched a series of synchronous step-down DC/DC converters supporting a low output voltage from 0.60 to 0.95V and achieving an ultra-low supply current of 0.5μA. The XC9272 series enables power to be supplied with high-efficiency to chipsets that require a core voltage under 1.0V and maximises the performance of low-voltage chipsets.

Torex Semiconductor has launched the XC9263/XC9264 series of synchronous step-down DC/DC converters with an internal 18V-operation driver transistor and an output current of 500mA. A shift from LDO to DC/DC is gaining strength in recent years in order to reduce standby power consumption. Power consumption also is being reduced in digital audio/visual equipment, large household appliances and industrial equipment and the demand for low power consumption by PFM control is increasing.

Torex Semiconductor has launched the XC9141/XC9142 series of 0.8A step-up DC/DC converters with a load disconnection function. The demand for internal-driver, step-up DC/DC converters in a small package for use in portable devices has been increasing in recent years. There is also an increasing demand for products equipped with an input–output disconnection function (load disconnection function) to prevent malfunctioning during standby, and for device functionality that enables power supply to RTC.

Designed to prolong battery life in single-cell Li-ion battery applications where the output voltage is within the battery voltage range, the XC9306 converter has been released by Torex Semiconductor. When discharged, a Li-ion battery's operating voltage declines to the point that it can no longer power it's load. The synchronous buck-boost converter boosts the output voltage of the battery, extending it’s usable life.

Suitable for use with DC/DC converters and in low voltage applications, particularly in hand-held and portable equipment, the XBS104P11R-G, XBS304F11R-G and XBS306P11R-G Schottky barrier diodes have been announced by Torex Semiconductor. Schottky barrier diodes offer much lower forward voltage drop than standard switching diodes which means that they can offer high current capabilities, ultra fast switching and low power dissipation.
