Omnetics Circular Connectors Use Nano Sizes for High Density Miniature Circuits

As design miniaturization evolves, mobile instruments, military, surveillance, and medical devices are being asked to go smaller and retain very high reliability. Miniature circuits and instruments are often highly portable and must fit into extremely tight spaces that require quick and easy cable connections in very rugged environments. Higher speed digital signals must be accommodated with additional pin count in reduced diameter cables.

Based around the company’s leading micro and nano miniature connectors, the cable systems are assembled in Omnetics’ 340 square foot cleanroom. New capabilities include cables that can withstand disinfection and sterilization fluids and processes commonly used in medical environments.

Omnetics Mil-Quality circular nano connectors preferred by Homeland Surveillance applications

Omnetics has announced its new circular Nano products – which are amongst the smallest circular connector families to use a MIL-quality contact system – are ideal for fulfilling the specific requirements of the Homeland Surveillance market. 32 AWG size wiring with Teflon insulation is terminated into 0.635mm pitch plastic insulated circular connectors that mate to surveillance camera and night-vision systems.

Omnetics signs UK deal with Andtrace

Omnetics Connector Corporation has announced that it has signed a UK deal with new Portsmouth-based repping company AndTrace. Founded last year, AndTrace brings a wealth of experience in all functions concerned with electronic connector design-in and sales, and the company has already facilitated a franchise deal between Omnetics and leading F1 distributor, Servo Interconnect Ltd.

Omnetics has announced that its unique, latching Bi-lobe connector can now be offered with overmolded cables, or incorporated into equipment housings. For medical applications this offers several benefits including protection against contamination and easy sterilization, as well as significant savings in space, weight and cost.

Omnetics launches Mil/Aero quality latching nano connector

Omnetics Connector Corporation has announced that its Bi-Lobe connectors are now available with a quick latch system. Moreover, these devices pass the shock and vibration requirements of MIL-DTL-32139 – making them the first latching nano products suitable for use in military and aerospace applications.

Omnetics’ high density micro-miniature circular connectors

Omnetics has announced that its micro series circular connectors are now available with twist lock metal shells. The locking mechanism requires just a simple quarter turn - similar to the action commonly used in BNC connectors. When combined with a jacketed cable, Omnetics’ new high density circular connectors can be sealed to IP67 ratings.

Omnetics launches Mil-Quality circular nano connector

Omnetics has announced its new Circular Nano series - one of the smallest circular connector families available today that uses a mil quality contact system. With a total mated length of 9.0mm and outer diameters ranging from 3.1mm (0.122”) to 5.5mm (0.217”), these small connectors provide a rugged and reliable solution in the harshest of operating environments, making them ideal for medical, military and aerospace applications.
