A family of high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transmitters have been introduced by Exar Corporation, that combine low power, high performance, small packaging and high ±15kV ESD protection. This family is best suited for industrial applications such as multi-drop clock distribution, telecom networking, robotic control, process automation and local area network applications.

A family of USB 2.0 hubs that consume the least amount of power and require the smallest real-estate footprint in the industry have been announced by Exar Corporation.   Expanding its family of single-chip RS-232/RS-485/RS-422 serial transceivers, Exar has announced the XR34350 multiprotocol transceiver. The XR34350 features a wide ±10V RS-232 driver output that supports a wider range of RS-232 peripherals.

Exar has announced that it will showcase its innovative force sensing technology at Sensors Expo and Conference 2016, 22nd to 23rd June in San Jose, California. This technology allows Exar to offer complete sensor module solutions that enable force touch on any surface in both industrial and high-end consumer applications.

The company's first universal PMIC with three integrated synchronous MOSFET power stages, the XR77103 has been introduced by Exar. This integration results in an even smaller solution than was possible before, a tiny, 4x4mm IC which delivers an easy-to-use power management solution for a broad range of FPGAs, SoCs, DSPs and video processors.

  The latest addition to Exar's family of AFE sensor interfaces, the XR18910, integrates high channel count and functionality in a tiny 3.5x3.5mm footprint. Providing 14-bit signal path linearity, the device is designed to connect analog sensors to an MCU or FPGA with an embedded ADC.


Exar Corporation introduced the XR76116 and XR76120, 15 and 20A Point-of-Load (POL) step-down buck switching regulators using the latest generation of Exar’s patented emulated current mode Constant on-Time (COT) control. This control loop provides the fast transient response required in demanding server applications while making implementation simple and easy.

Exar Corporation has announced the XR33202, a half-duplex, 20Mb/s RS-485 (TIA/EIA-485) transceiver optimised to operate over a wide 3-5.5V supply voltage range. Designed for professional video surveillance applications, Exar has announced a DVR PCIe add-in card. Exar Corporation has expanded its offering of AC step driver solutions for LED bulbs with the introduction of the XR46073. The XR46073 is a two-step LED current controller for AC step driving with improved line regulation primarily for A19 LED bulb applications. The line regulation of the XR46073 is improved by a factor of two over Exar’s prior generation.
