Optimised for use in offline AC/DC converters in portable products, consumer electronics and domestic appliances, Diodes Incorporated has introduced a family of PWM controllers. The AP3125 current-mode devices have been designed to improve operating efficiency and eliminate no-load losses.

Offering superior protection for charging one- and two-cell lithium batteries, a bi-directional MOSFET has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The DMN2023UCB4's low RDS(ON) reduces power while its thin chip-scale packaging saves space to allow increased battery capacity in consumer applications where size, weight and battery life are critical, such as smartphones, tablets, cameras and portable media players.

Claimed to be the world’s first DFN0606-packaged NPN and PNP devices, Diodes Incorporated has announced four transistors which occupy a board space of only 0.36mm2 with an off-board height of only 0.4mm. The devices are suited for wearables, such as smart watches, as well as other space-constrained consumer products, such as smartphones and tablets.

With fully adjustable output slew rates set via ground-connected external capacitors on its soft-start inputs, the device’s two N-channel MOSFET outputs can be independently controlled.

A programmable op-amp which offers a bias-select mode, enabling closer matching of power dissipation and AC performance with the specific requirements of battery-powered consumer and industrial products, has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The op-amp is the company’s own version of the TLC271.

Aimed at improving reliability of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) in telecomms, data centers and server duties, Diodes Incorporated has introduced a 40V-rated active OR’ing controller. Suitable for equipment in which space in limited, a pair of single-phase fan motor drivers have been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The AH5772 and AH5773 all-in-one, 12V drivers offer a high level of integration, miniature package options and thermal handling, enabling a reduction in component count and PCB area.

According to the manufacturer, the D24V0L1B2LPSQ offers improved protection, greater reliability and easier inspection during manufacturing, when compared to Zener-based and varistor devices.

  A constant-frequency, voltage-mode, external-compensation boost controller has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The AL3022 is suitable for TV and monitor manufacturers needing a cost-effective solution for driving LED backlights in 14-42" LCD panel designs.

Designed to improve power supply efficiency and performance in 5.5W chargers, ADSL adapters and home appliance supplies, Diodes Incorporated introduces an off-line, side-switching controller. The AP3988 regulates output voltage using piece-wide pulse frequency modulation, in which analogue levels are represented as fixed-duration pulses of varying repetition rate.

A low-voltage CMOS logic family, available in QFN and TSSOP 20-pin packages, has been expanded with the addition of octal devices. Thirteen 8-channel logic parts, from Diodes Inc, have been introduced, suitable for data bus applications in a wide range of consumer electronics and data communication products.

Optimising the design of sub-12W triac dimmer-compatible LED lamps, the AP1695 LED lamp driver from Diodes Incorporated features a 1-100% dimming range and reduces BOM costs by up to 30%.
