The AP22850 can handle power up/down sequencing with load currents up to 8A and adjustable start-up and discharge rates.
Adjustable shunt regulator reduces standby dissipation
An adjustable shunt regulator which features a 50μA minimum cathode current that is significantly lower than equivalent industry standard 431 devices has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. This enables manufacturers of switch-mode power supplies to target applications that require very low power dissipation, particularly 12V/19V adaptors/chargers, but also TVs and monitors where standby power consumption is of great importance.
Single-channel comparator prolongs battery life
Designed for use in low voltage battery-powered equipment, the AZV3001 comparator has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The single-channel device consumes only 6μA and provides guaranteed operation from 1.6 up to 5.5V, making it well-suited for use in mobile phones, tablets and notebook computers, where it delivers superior performance and helps extend battery life.
Integrated regulator minimises PCB area in MCU applications
A regulator, which monolithically integrates a transistor, Zener diode and resistor to provide a 5V 15mA output from inputs of up to 60V, has been released by Diodes Incorporated. Offered in a small SOT-23 package, the ZXTR2105F reduces component count and minimises PCB area in MCU applications, such as DC cooling fans for PCs and servers, as well motor drive, blowers and sensor applications in industrial and automotive market segments.
Rectifiers increase electronic charge efficiency
Enabling higher integration and efficiency in portable chargers, two synchronous rectifiers combining a driver circuit with an internal MOSFET have been released by Diodes Incorporated. Providing cost effective rectification with reduced power dissipation and using fewer external components, the APR3415 and APR34330 are suitable for applications including adapters/chargers for cellular and cordless phones, ADSL modems and MP3 players.
Hall effect sensors improve contactless switching accuracy
Diodes Incorporated has introduced a family of micro-power 8-bit Hall effect sensors for contactless switching in portable consumer, domestic and industrial applications. The AH8500, AH8501, AH8502 and AH8503 sensors operate over a supply range of 1.6-3.6V and a magnetic range of ±400G, minimising current consumption down to micro-power levels.
Amplifier drives bridge-tied speakers & Class-AB headphones
A 3W stereo class-D audio amplifier and class-AB headphone driver, the PAM8009, has been released by Diodes Incorporated. Targeting the makers of LCD monitors, all-in-one PCs and video projectors, the device features power limit technology for speaker protection and an advanced DC volume control for precise 64-step gain adjustment, enabling minimal external components to be used.
