The new X-500 Series from Swissbit achieves a data rate on SATA II of up to 240MB/sec and an impressive 15,000 IOPS (input / output per second) with 4k random accesses. The high end architecture utilizes up to 8 channels with the most reliable SLC NAND Flash on the market. Special features such as ATA-8, NCQ and TRIM enable higher IOPS and sequential performance providing the best combination of performance and reliability for industrial applications.
Additionally, sophisticated mechanisms and augments like the S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) protocol, extended lifetime monitoring tools and software development kit enables the application or designer to have the full control of mission critical data all the time. The BCH-ECC (error correction code) ensures data reliability with the power fail protected X-500 Series. Added to this are such features as a SATA Latching connector, the on board temperature sensor, the ATA security set and in-field FW update.

Different advanced erase methods like “Enhanced Secure Erase” allow fast and secure deletion of data. The “sanitize and purge” methods are compliant to the norms DoD, NSA, USA Air Force, Navy, Army or IREC (IRIG).

With these features, the X-500 Series fulfills all needs of demanding applications for markets like Government & Defense, Medical, Telecommunications & Networking, Transportation & Automotive, Automation, Industrial and Embedded.

The X-500 Series from Swissbit is available in storage densities from 16GB to 512GB as SLC (single level cell) and optimized EM-MLC (Endurance Managed Multi Level Cell) versions. For demanding applications, the SLC solution guarantees data preservation of ten years, and the EM-MLC version for five years according to the JEDEC standard. The X-500 SSDs can be used in a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, a version for commercial applications covers the temperature range from 0°C to +70°C. All types offer a high level of shock and vibration resistance and meet highest standards of quality. As with all Swissbit storage solutions, the long-term availability and a fixed BOM also apply for the X-500 Series.
