Due to the way in which video over IP is becoming the new standard for video delivery, VideoFlow is incorporating an ASI interface into its products. For the company, incorporating an ASI interface into its products is less costly than replacing existing equipment with ASI interfaces.

VideoFlow selected DekTec's DTA-2144 quad ASI interface card to incorporate into its products.

"Being the distributor for both companies gives us a unique insight into the strengths of both VideoFlow and DekTec and the realisation that bringing them together creates a solution that meets our customers business needs, i.e. how to benefit fully from the new Internet-based method of video delivery while protecting their existing equipment investment," says Terry Nye, Director, NyeTec.

Nilesh Mandalia, VP of Sales, DekTec, explains, "The move to using the Internet for video connections is rapidly taking off as it significantly reduces costs. VideoFlow's Digital Video Protection (DVP) ensures that no packets are lost and jitter is eliminated so that customers can now rely on this new way to have a robust connection. And, now that VideoFlow is incorporating our ASI adapter cards, professional broadcasters can continue to use their existing equipment so the costs of moving to video over IP are minimal and the on-going saving considerable."

Larry Leibson, VP of Sales, VideoFlow adds, "We chose DekTec's cards as they are a standard format - a PCI Express card - so they simply plug straight into our DVP without us having to do any modifications. We examined other offerings in the market and selected DekTec. Their design is excellent as is the reliability with thousands already in use making it the de facto standard. This will significantly expand our potential market as we now offer a very easy and cost effective path for customers using legacy broadcast equipment to lower the cost of video delivery."
