Ever smaller and capable smart phones and tablet PC have been the leading result in the vigorous development of the new-gen mobile devices. Driven by this demand, terminal devices are being developed towards “low profile” form factors to meet the needs of mobility and ability in portable devices. As one of the top ten PC SSD manufacturers, Apacer has just launched two variations of their SDM4, the ultra slim SSD to address this trend.
The SDM4 features a weight of only 3g~5g, a thickness of 6.42~6.90mm, around 40% the size of mSATA SSD dedicated to the current Ultra book (a challenge to the smallest SSD) and a capacity of up to 32GB. In addition, its characteristics of anti-shock, anti-vibration and low-power consumption perfectly conform to the new generation’s portable embedded applications.

Apacer’s SDM4, the latest ultra slim SSD, adopts a 7-pin SATA connector. Its innovative and unique hook design can effectively protect the inner parts of the system from possible loosening or falling during any movement, insuring stability of system operation. As its width of 16mm matches the SATA slots, users can flexibly expand the storage capacity in accordance with their own needs without worrying about mechanism interference. Moreover, the ultra slim design of the product facilitates the airflow within the unit’s body and thus achieves better heat dissipation.
