The EBM-BDW, a 5.25” SBC based on 5th gen Intel Core processors, has been introduced by Avalue Technology. The 5th gen processors are based on Intel’s 14nm process technology, which is designed to provide outstanding graphics and performance in a smaller thermal envelope. This technology supports next-gen IoT solutions, while maintaining ready compatibility with previous generations.

The EBM-BDW supports two 204-pin DDR3L SODIMMs with up to 8GB capacity per SODIMM. HDMI and LVDS dual display configurations are also supported by the SBC. I/O interfaces include two mPCIe ports (one supports mSATA and one supports PCIe and USB with SIM card slot), one HDMI, one CF, one lockable DC jack, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one COM port and 16-bit GPIO. One audio jack supports Realtek ALC892, 5.1-CH audio, while two LAN ports support Intel I210AT and Intel I218LM. The embedded board is suitable for a variety of applications, including digital signage, ATMs and SMB storage and surveillance.

“Intel’s 5th gen Intel Core processors bring excellent performance for embedded edge devices IoT applications. With this technology, Avalue will be able to provide their customers with important advancements in speed and performance required for IoT solutions,” commented Samuel Cravatta, IOTG Product Line Director, Intel.
