Utilising the latest quad-core Intel Atom processor and supporting DDR3L-1066/1333MHz system memory up to 8GB, the PICO840 compact Pico-ITX embedded SBC has been released by Axiomtek. The computer, which operates across an industrial temperature range of -40 to +70°C, allows system developers and OEMs to create smaller, lighter and quieter devices.

Suitable for POS systems, mobile medical monitor, compact panel PCs and multiple embedded computer, system and appliance segments, the SBC is offered with the AX93283 I/O board. By connecting the board via high speed sockets, system integrators can obtain the most flexible I/O choices for their applications.

“The rich I/O connections, including four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and two RS-232/422/485 serial ports, are offered for flexible M2M connection. The 18/24-bit dual channel LVDS and VGA (or HDMI) are supported for the playback of multimedia. In order to meet different kinds of the storage demands, the optimised palm-sized embedded board comes with mSATA support and supports one SATA-3Gb/s connector. The Axiomtek PICO840 is suitable for system integrators looking for a versatile, compact and reliable SBC,” said Michelle Mi, Product Manager, Product Marketing Division, Axiomtek.

The PICO840 Pico-ITX embedded SBC and AX93283 I/O board will be available at the end of April.
