The PAN1740 Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Module from Panasonic is now being shipped by Mouser Electronics. The single-model Bluetooth module reduces power consumption by more than 66% and comes with a fully shielded case that includes an integrated chip antenna and on-board crystal oscillators.

The module draws only 5mA in transmit or receive mode, allowing the use of coin cell batteries with no reduction of signal range or transmit power while still keeping to the Bluetooth BLE specification. It boasts a small footprint of only 9 x 9.5 x 1.8mm. Receiver sensitivity is -93 dBm and output power is up to 0 dBm.

The module includes an embedded BLE stack and Generic Attribute (GATT) Profile. There are two internal crystal oscillators and an integrated antenna, reducing component count.

It targets consumer applications as well as wireless sensors, cable replacement applications, instrumentation, heart rate monitors, and blood glucose meters.
