mimoOn, a leader in Software Defined Radio Solutions for advanced wireless standards, today announced the integration of its ‘mi!Infra’ basestation software on Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320TCI648x processors. This integrated solution is particularly suited for the upcoming femtocell and LTE market.
“With mimoOn’s LTE software available on TI’s DSP products, mimoOn is well positioned to serve the unique characteristics of both the femtocell and macro base station vendors targeting initial LTE rollout in 2010,” said Thomas Kaiser, CEO of mimoOn. “mimoOn’s software was ported to the TI platforms in a short timeframe which illustrates both the value of the highly portable and scalable ‘mi!Infra™’ software as well as the powerful development environment of Texas Instruments.”

“TI’s highly flexible, scaleable DSPs worked very well with mimoOn’s portable LTE software, enabling infrastructure OEMs to achieve a seamless progression from the home-based femtocell product to the newest air interface – LTE,” said Kathy Brown, general manager of Texas Instruments Wireless Infrastructure unit. “The combination of mimoOn’s software and TI’s high performance DSPs gives our customers a boost in time-to-market and platform extensibility.”
