M/A-COM Technology Solutions introduced today at the OFC/NFOEC Tradeshow in California, the industry’s lowest power EML Driver. The MAOM-002203 is a high performance electro-absorption modulator driver IC for 100G applications.

TheMAOM-002203 is a high performance electro-absorption modulator driver IC for 100G applications. Unlike the competition, the device boasts an excellent power consumption of 0.75W, low RMS jitter and a typical rise and fall time of 12.5ps; making it an excellent solution for customers looking for a 100G driver device. Packaged in a 4x4mm surface mount, the MAOM-002203 is the industry’s lowest power EML driver providing customers an ideal solution for next generation network platforms.

“With its excellent performance, this driver enables customers to effectively meet next generation CFP/CFP2 power, size and cost requirements,” said Ray Moroney, M/A-COM’s Business Development Manager.

The MAOM-002203 is driven with differential input signal that can range from 250mVpp to 500mVpp, providing an output that can be controlled from 1.0Vpp to 2.5Vpp. In addition, the driver has separate integrated high frequency coils which allows for biasing the driver and the EML; altogether providing customers an excellent and efficient device for CFP and CFP2 applications.
