A new two-way power divider that is particularly suitable for use in military mobile jamming systems to counter the threat of IEDs is available from Link Microtek. Manufactured by Narda Microwave, the Model 2382-2 power divider operates over microwave frequencies from 500MHz to 6GHz and can handle an input power of up to 250W CW or 2kW peak.

As well as functioning as a power divider, it can also be used as a combiner for very high power non-coherent signals.

The device offers exceptional performance, with an insertion loss of no greater than 1.5dB at any frequency in its range, a typical phase balance of +/-7deg and a maximum amplitude balance of 0.4dB. Maximum VSWR is typically 1.5:1 at all ports, and minimum isolation is specified as 9dB at frequencies below 1GHz and 17dB above 1GHz.

Model 2382-2 has a microwave power handling capability of up to 100W CW under any load condition, rising to 220W CW for a load VSWR of 2:1 and 250W CW for a load VSWR of 1.2:1.

Featuring a rugged construction for excellent long-term reliability, the new power divider weighs just 396g and has overall dimensions of only 88.9 x 63.5 x 25.4mm, excluding the N-type female connectors.
