CSiT has selected the TRACe transportation computing products from Kontron for its TRANSIS multi-modal Integrated Communications System (ICS).

Kontron's TRACe B304-TR and TRACe V304-TR EN50155 certified fanless transportation computers and the TRACe HMI D104 driver console have been certified with the CSiT TRANSIS-Train ICS. With several customer engagements already in development, Kontron TRACe products simplify development giving CSiT the feature-rich foundation for their advanced high-performance, connected train solutions. Standards based, TRACe is proven to ensure computing and display console interoperability matching TRANSIS requirements to bring disparate sub-systems together into a single system that delivers added intelligence for rail operators. Transforming data into actionable information, CSiT's TRANSIS ICS offers an innovative communications solution for a range of different applications including video surveillance, passenger entertainment/infotainment and public address / announcement systems.

"CSiT has successfully implemented a breakthrough approach to information integration and wireless communication across all transit modes (stations, trains, shelters, buses) that wouldn't be possible without solid support from standardised technologies. Kontron's demonstrated experience in both transportation and standards-based COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) products perfectly complements our design goals for our TRANSIS-Train on-board application," said Denis Poliquin, President of CSiT. "Kontron TRACe is the ideal computing platform making it possible for CSiT to focus on what we do best - building powerful integrated systems that deliver a single point of information reference for all our customers' systems and modes worldwide."

"The TRACe modular open-architecture platform is inherently scalable allowing CSiT to futureproof their application development investment while keeping their systems adaptable for all types of trains," said Kontron Head of Transportation Business Line, Robert Negre. "Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled, TRACe brings the data revolution benefits of the connected train to CSiT products ensuring seamless and secure communication between legacy systems and the cloud. A further advantage is that it also eliminates the need to replace existing infrastructure with all new Internet-enabled systems."
