With low output voltage from a transducer it is frequently essential to provide signal amplification close by to ensure good noise immunity. When this also happens to be in a wet environment then RDP Electronics Ltd's S7 amplifier series supplied in rugged die-cast aluminium housings with cable glands and seals rated to IP65 meet this environmental protection need and provides effective electrical screening.
RDP’s S7 amplifiers contain all the necessary circuitry for transducer excitation, zero and scale adjustment and amplification with a choice of voltage and current outputs. Designed for use with RDP’s extensive range of LVDT and Half Bridge displacement sensors, the S7AC dc powered version for example is easy to set up and calibrate, having a gain of 500 in 8 steps, with ‘fine’ control and a bandwidth of 500Hz. Also incorporated is an 'Over-Range' indicator which warns if the demodulator input exceeds the linear range. The output can be configured for Bipolar or Unipolar operation having a maximum of ±10V or 4-20mA, using a choice of DC or 230/115V AC power supply voltages.
