DVDO has announced the availability of the Matrix44, the 4K HDMI matrix switcher that provides four HDMI 2.0 inputs and four discrete HDMI 2.0 outputs to transmit up to 4K at 50/60Hz while supporting 3D, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Designed for both home and commercial use, it provides intuitive control, fast independent switching and discrete outputs for installers and home theatre enthusiasts.

Matrix44 offers easy control from a built-in Web server for setup and monitoring, direct TCP/IP, telnet, RS232, and IR for easy integration into a higher-level control system. For standalone applications, a wireless Android application is also available. Front panel controls are straightforward and allow individual output control, direct jump to preset connections, and the ability to lock out the front panel controls to prevent unwanted changes.

With a locking power connector, rack mount tabs, remote Web access and easy field-upgradable firmware, Matrix44 is designed with the installer in mind. Flash-free mode and support for 3D-TV are provided, as is a USB socket for easier firmware updates.

Matrix44 ensures universal display compatibility through dynamic EDID control. Multiple EDID options from sink duplication to a variety of preset EDIDs enable simple and reliable home theater or commercial AV installations.

“We’ve taken our popular Matrix6 and upgraded the feature-set to include full 4x4 capability, integrated TCP/IP control, and added Android control capabilities to make this an easy-to-use and robust matrix switching system for pros,” said Doug Fealtman, General Manager, DVDO. “Whether you’re a home theater enthusiast looking to consolidate your HD and 4K sources, or an installer that wants leading-edge performance with full command and control, the new Matrix44 simply delivers.”

Matrix44 is now available at an MSRP of $1499 from authorised DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.
