Hectronic has announced two COM Express modules based on the new Intel Atom Processor E3xxx, also called Bay Trail. H6824 is a COM Express Mini (84mmx55mm) form factor module with the pinout type 10. H6825 is a somewhat bigger COM Express Compact module (95mmx95mm) and the pinout is type 6.

Both products draw advantages from the benefits associated with the new generation of Intel Atom processors such as increased performance from up to four CPU cores and the new graphics engine Intel HD.

The two COM modules offer more computing performance with the same power consumption compared to previous generation Intel Atom. Processor and I/O hub is included in a single component and therefore enables development of smaller computer boards based on Intel Atom Processor E3xxx but also more compact end products.

The power consumption of the processor platform is from 5W to 10W depending on which one of the five processor options is selected.

“The combination of increased performance, compact dimensions and ultra-low power consumption I’m sure will open up new possibilities for our customers to develop products that haven’t been a possibility before,” comments Robert Helenius, Product Manager at Hectronic AB.

Samples are available for selected OEM customers. Volume production will begin at the end of 2013.
