Fairchild Semiconductor brings cell phone, digital camera and portable designers two memory switches, the FSSD06 and FSSD07, that expand communication between peripherals such as Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital I/O (SDIO) and Multimedia Card (MMC) to common processors.
The FSSD06 allows two peripherals to write/read to one processor and the FSSD07 allows two processors write/read to one peripheral. Their architecture includes the necessary bi-directional data and command transfer capability for single high-voltage cards or dual-voltage supply cards and the clock path is a uni-directional buffer.

These memory switches offer a wide operating range (1.65V to 3.6V), addressing the needs of portable designs. With built-in voltage translation the host controllers can be equal to, greater than, or less than the peripheral card supply voltage, with minimal power consumption (2µA maximum). Additional benefits include low on capacitance (6pF typical) and robust ESD protection (10kV HBM). These devices are available in either compact 24-lead MLP (3.5 x 4.5mm) or UMLP (2.5 x 3.4mm) packages.

The FSSD06 and FSSD07 are part of a comprehensive portfolio of memory switches. Fairchild Semiconductor is the premier supplier for switch products for use in portable and consumer applications. Analog, audio, video and USB switches are used to minimize redundant circuitry, eliminate connectors, simplify design and save space.
