Entry-level satellite SoC powers HD STB

STMicroelectronics has revealed that its STiH237 Cardiff satellite SoC is powering the Satellite HD Zapper STB from Skyworth Digital. Cardiff is ST's entry-level satellite STB platform that delivers superior video decoding and the highest reliability under the worst field conditions, enabling superior display and image quality and broadcast demodulation performance.

The SoC supports the advanced security features of leading Conditional Access providers. Together these features enable customers to minimise development cost and rapidly build very attractive satellite set-top boxes.
