DATA MODUL has launched the eDM-A55E, a Mini-ITX board based on the AMD embedded G-Series. The brand new board has been designed especially according to DATA MODUL’s requirement specification and is the result of a close cooperation with a leading manufacturer of industrial motherboards.
The eDM-A55E is available with either passive cooled T40E (1.0 GHz, Dual Core) APU and integrated Radeon HD 6250 graphics unit or active cooled T56N (1.6 GHz, Dual-Core) APU.

The T56N uses the more powerful integrated Radeon HD 6320 graphics unit which allows to play two 1080p videos independently.

With the onboard 204-pin SODIMM socket up to 4 GB DDR3 system memory are supported. The integrated graphics unit provides the best „performance per watt“ ratio in it’s class. It is suitable for playing Full HD videos and supports DirectX11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenCL 1.1.

This performance is mainly based on the excellent driver support from AMD. As a very special feature the eDM-A55E delivers two independent dual channel 24bit LVDS interfaces, so it can drive and supply two Full HD panels simultaneously.

The following dual display configurations are possible: VGA + LVDS1, VGA + LVDS2, LVDS1 + LVDS2. This turns the eDM-A55E into a perfect solution for any application which requires an outstanding graphics performance, such as gaming, digital signage or medical imaging.

Furthermore the eDM-A55E offers a multitude of other interfaces like 8 x USB 2.0, 6 x COM, 8 GPIOs, 4 x SATA, HD audio with 2 x 5W amplifier, dual gigabit ethernet and one CFast Socket. It’s expandable via mini PCI-Express and PCIe x4.

The Mini-ITX board is available with +12V DC power input or optionally with +24V DC input which makes it very flexible and suitable for many applications.

The eDM-A55E has a guaranteed long-term availability of at least 6 years and is available at DATA MODUL with a wide range of TFT Displays along with matching cable set and adapted Power-ON/OFF timing. Therefore a time intensive display adjustment process will not be necessary anymore.

DATA MODUL also provides customized firmware-development for Embedded Systems as well as driver-adjustments and customization of operating systems.
