Data Modul announced one of the first 3.5“ embedded boards (ECM-A50M) powered by the AMD G-Series, the world’s first and only Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) for embedded systems.
The AMD Embedded G-Series, based on the AMD Fusion technology delivers a complete, full-featured embedded platform. The APU incorporates the new low-power, x86 CPU based on the “Bobcat” core with a world-class DirectX® 11-capable GPU and parallel processing engine on a single piece of silicon.
The ECM-A50M comes with AMD T40N 1.0GHz processor by default but is also available with AMD T56N 1.6GHz processor.
It provides the standard I/O features 7 x USB 2.0, 2 x COM (one of them is switchable to RS232/422/485), 16 GPIOs, 2 x SATA, HD Audio, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, one CFast Socket and it is expandable via mini PCI-Express.

A wide variety of display I/O configurations are supported, including HDMI, dual-channel 24-bit LVDS, VGA and dual display configurations. An onboard touch-controller is optionally available.
The 3.5” board has one SODIMM socket onboard which supports up to 4 GB DDR3 1066 SDRAM.

Like Avalue’s (Partner of DATA MODUL AG) other embedded products, the new ECM-A50M provides a long-term availability of 5 - 7 years with a strict revision control.

DATA MODUL also offers this highly integrated module with a wide range of different TFT Displays (AUO, Sharp, CMO,...) inclusive inverters, tested cables and adapted Power-ON/OFF timing. The use of a time intensive display adjustment therefore becomes redundant.

DATA MODUL is able to offer their customers firmware-development for Embedded Systems, driver-adjustments and adjustments of operating systems.
