Designed to support secure network applications, the PL-80590 desktop platform has been released by WIN Enterprises. Powered by the next-gen Intel Atom C2000 processor family with two, four or eight cores, the platform is offered with a number of security features including Intel AES New Instructions and Intel QuickAssist Technology.

To provide hardware accelerated data encryption and decryption, the desktop platform is also offered with Intel Streaming SIMD Extension. Four DDR3 1333/1600MHz unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DIMM sockets up to 16GB of memory are supported by the compact platform. Storage interfaces supporting CompactFlash and 2.5 or 3.5" SATA 3.0 6Gb/s hard drives are provided with the PL-80590. Hardware-level cryptographic acceleration is provided by the Intel QuickAssist technology, enabling the reallocation of CPU computing power for functions such as higher-layer packet processing.

Eight GbE Ethernet ports via PCIe are accessible from the front-panel. Through WDT and GPIO pin definitions, two segments of LAN bypass function are supported by the platform, preventing network problems during unplanned shut downs. Dual USB 2.0 ports and a RJ-45 console port are also provided on the front panel for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics. LED indicators monitor power and storage device activities.
