At the AdvancedTCA Summit CommAgility announced today the AMC-V5F-10G, a high performance FPGA-based interface and processing card for the latest wireless baseband and other demanding processing and optical data interfacing applications.
For systems that require very high speed optical links, a front panel SFP+ interface provides a fast data link, including Ethernet at 10Gbps, and 16x CPRI (running at 9.8304Gbps). As well as high end data networking applications, this enables advanced wireless applications such as multi-rate LTE to exchange data at four times the normal CPRI maximum rate.

A full Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure allows for system expansion, and additional optical data interfacing is enabled by dual SFP interfaces from the FPGA. High-bandwidth connection to other AMC modules is provided by optional Serial RapidIO (SRIO) or PCI Express links from the FPGA to the AMC backplane.

The AMC-V5F-10G is a single width, full-size Advanced Mezzanine Card. High processing power is delivered by a Xilinx Virtex-5 LX110T FPGA. This configures and boots from FLASH on reset, using one of 4 selectable configuration images which are customer programmable and can be updated over Ethernet. The FPGA is fully customer configurable.

Edward Young, managing director at CommAgility, said, There's always a need for more I/O bandwidth and processor power from applications like LTE, and this module provides the performance required.

The AMC-V5F10G is available now. Extensive software and firmware library support enables OEMs to port application code quickly, reducing time to market.
