Highlighting the importance of maintaining business continuity and reducing downtime, Lantronix demonstrated IoT infrastructure management and mobile printing solutions at Cloud Expo Europe 2015, in London. Products on show included the SLC 8000 advanced console manager, the PremierWave XC HSPA+ intelligent gateway and application server, the SLB 8824 branch office manager and the xPrintServer which enables native mobile printing.

The SLC 8000 allows IT personnel to centrally manage, monitor and troubleshoot IT equipment, ensuring minimal or zero network disruption. Offering easy, secure administration and management of IT equipment from anywhere and at any time, the modular console manager enables users to leverage the command line interface of most IT equipment for reconfiguring, rebooting and reloading firmware from a single point of contact.

The modular design of SLC 8000 allows users to simply add or swap modules to expand the number of device ports, upgrade from a single power supply to dual and introduce new serial interfaces such as USB. This flexibility minimises capital expenditures while offering easy scalability. The SLC 8000 includes AES, SSL and SSH encryption, remote authentication for integration with other systems and firewall features to reject connection attempts or block.

The PremierWave XC HSPA+ is an industrial-grade 3.5G intelligent gateway and application server, which uses a SIM card to enable cellular out-of-band connectivity and reduce potential downtime. Designed for rapid application development and deployment in remote locations, the IP30-rated solution offers Penta-band HSPA+ performance, network redundancy and enterprise-level security for mission-critical, time sensitive applications. It is suitable for use as the primary wireless connectivity for multiple devices previously unable to be connected via Ethernet or WiFi and as a backup if connectivity fails.

Lantronix’s SLB 8824 branch office manager combines the capabilities of the SLC console manager with remote power management into a compact, 1U rack-mountable appliance. Providing secure remote console and power management (on/off/reboot) for eight devices, administrators can centrally monitor, manage and troubleshoot IT equipment even if the network or Internet is down.

Built for locations with no dedicated or on-site system administrator, the Hybrid management solution integrates eight serial ports, eight switching power outlets and dual AC power inlets with automatic transfer to the secondary power source if the primary fails. When combined with the PremierWave XC HSPA+, the SLB offers a ‘future-proof’ solution for secure remote console and power management which can withstand main power and connectivity failure.

The xPrintServer enables native mobile printing from Apple iOS devices to thousands of networked printer models with no configuration. Lantronix also offers the xPrintServer – Cloud Print Edition which supports Android devices, Kindle Fire tablets and any device running Google Chrome.

Native mobile printing

Kurt Busch, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lantronix, commented: "It's important for companies to be able to securely manage their IT critical infrastructure. Lantronix IT management solutions enable real-time monitoring of IT systems and assets, whether on-site or remotely, which improves efficiencies and helps to maximise business continuity. This enables companies to focus less on managing their IT systems and more on using their data to improve their business."
