Today Axiomtek introduced iCON-3341 point-to-point industrial Ethernet extenders which can extend Ethernet connectivity in existing facilities over existing coaxial cable without pulling extra cable. These reliable and rugged devices with wide operating temperature and long MTBF are ideal for building automation, security surveillance, digital signage, factory automation, and intelligent transportation system. In addition, the IP30-rated iCON-3341 series meets NEMA TS1 / TS2 standard for traffic control equipment and IEC61000-6-2 EMC generic standard immunity for industrial environment.
To break the standard distance barriers, the iCON-3341 series efficiently extends 10/100 Ethernet circuits to 200 meters (656 feet) at up to 85Mbps using existing coaxial cable and up to 2,600 meters (8,530 feet) at 1Mbps transmit performance. For ease of maintenance, the iCON-3341 series features front-facing LED indicators for continues status reports on network speed. “Today’s shop-floor equipment is all Ethernet, however; re-cabling is often the showstopper and sometimes cost more than the communications equipment. Designed for device-networking environments, Axiomtek’s iCON-3341 series lets customers keep using what they already have to establish a high-speed remote connection between two Ethernet networks,” said Philip Wei, Product Manager of Applied Computing & Network Device Business Unit at Axiomtek.

The RJ-45 port on this unit provides auto-MDIX and auto-negotiation. Its installation is easy with a single switch setting to select local or remote site. In addition, the iCON-3341 series comes equipped with a 12 VDC redundant power input via a terminal block or power jack, and is secured with Power Polarity Reverse and an Overload Current Resettable Fuse. To fit various application requirements, the device can be DIN-rail, panel, or rack mounted.
