The new AFOLUX GEN 2 family of Panel PCs from BVM offers unrivalled versatility, features and performance, enabling it to be configured for a wide range of applications, from basic computing, through computer-intensive requirements to high performance fanless operation. The rugged flat bezel touchscreen, sealed to IP64, allow it be used in industrial production environments.
Available in standard or widescreen formats with sizes of 15, 15.6, 17 and 18.9 inches, and with a choice of either resistive or projected capacitive touch screens, the units are thinner than the previous generation and are available with a wealth of ancillary functionality.

An LED dashboard with up to 34 high output LEDs, each offering 256 different colour steps, provides an easily programmable visual display. Useful in production process management, home automation, medical instruments, security systems and many other applications, the colour, duration and pattern of each indicator is software controlled, providing an “at-a-glance” system status. Toolkits and SDK are provided with each unit. Two memory slots support up to 16GB of DRAM, an RFID reader, 802.11 b/n/g wireless interface, USB3.0, SD card ports, Bluetooth, a webcam and an optional DVD burner are all available. Plug-in modules provide a PCIe card interface, Gigabit Ethernet, 4-channel video capture cards and a 2-port serial card. A dedicated USB port for a universal dongle allows additional functionality such as TV, radio, 3G and GPS to be added.

Intel second-generation i7/i5/i3, Intel Atom, Pentium and AMD L325 processors are supported. A 2.5 inch SATA bay for mass storage is provided, Two-screen HDMI is standard and fanless operation, with auto fan-on fail safe when Tjmax is exceeded, gives added reliability. Power is from an external wide input 9-36VDC source.
