A range of C–band to KA-band antennas, available in a range of reflector sizes, has been released by Luso Microwave. The antennas' modular design, the company claims, reduces installation time, cut costs and adds flexibility to microwave satellite networks. KA band installations also benefit from the modular design, making set-ups financially viable for cost-sensitive commercial applications.
Wearable device utilises energy efficient Bluetooth Smart IC
A Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi, has included Dialog Semiconductor's Bluetooth SmartBond SoC in its Mi Band fitness tracking wrist band. The DA14580 enables the wearable device to deliver up to 30 days of battery power from a single charge, which the company claims is more than double the battery life of its closest competitor.

The PAN1740 Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Module from Panasonic is now being shipped by Mouser Electronics. The single-model Bluetooth module reduces power consumption by more than 66% and comes with a fully shielded case that includes an integrated chip antenna and on-board crystal oscillators.
