External drive controls power source output in real-time
An external drive option, enabling users to directly control the output of a power source in real-time, has been released by AMETEK. The -EXTD enables the California Instruments RS series of regenerative programmable AC sources to be used in HIL test systems.
AMD communication devices re-introduced by Rochester
The AM7968 TAXIchip Transmitter and the AM7969 TAXIchip Receiver Chipset is a general-purpose interface for very high-speed (4-17.5MBps, 40-175MBd serially) point-to-point communications over coaxial or fibre-optic media. The speed of a TAXIchip system is adjustable over a range of frequencies, with parallel bus transfer rates of 4MBps at the low end, and up to 17.5MBps at the high end.
Serial I/O modules feature software-controlled configuration
The Emerald-MM-8EL-XT (EMM-8EL-XT), a family of serial I/O modules offering four or eight serial ports, has been released by Diamond Systems. Based on PCIe octal UART with 256-byte TX/RX FIFOs and auto RS-485 transmit control, the ports feature software-controlled configuration and optional opto-isolation.
Router provides security for mission-critical networks
A router and security device, designed for industrial networking, has been introduced by Belden. Featuring a combination of protocol and IP routing, built-in firewall protection and VPN security, the Magnum 10RX provides WAN connectivity and security functions needed for reliable communication between mission-critical network devices.
Antennas connect cars & enhance driving experience
Laird's LTE/MIMO antennas will be installed on a major domestic automobile manufacturer’s North American vehicles, beginning with model year 2015. Enabling 4G/LTE cellular connection to mobile devices, infotainment and safety options inside the vehicle, the antennas offer drivers and passengers a superior in vehicle experience.
Networking device measures both voltage and current
An Ethernet networking device, designed for remote monitoring of multiple analogue inputs in industrial environments, has been released by Brainboxes. The ED-549, which features eight analogue input channels, accesses real-time data remotely to measure the voltage and current of instruments located on a process control factory floor or in a laboratory.
Acquire real-time data from PROFIBUS DP I/O devices
Form-fit-function replacements for the previous generation devices, Molex has announced the second generation Brad applicomIO PROFIBUS Network Interface Cards (NICs). These devices deliver a communication solution to acquire deterministic real-time data from I/O devices connected to the PROFIBUS DP protocol used by robotic manufacturers, complex machine builders, system integrators and end users.
Device enhances performance over unmanaged networks
A DVP (Digital Video Protection) device, designed to deliver high quality video over unmanaged networks, has been released by VideoFlow. The DVP100X handles up to 80 streams and 80 VPN tunnels simultaneously, enabling live content to be delivered over unmanaged networks with no packet lost while nullifying the jitter caused by transiting.
Keyboard registers every key with a 1,000Hz polling rate
Offering switchable N-Key Rollover/USB 6 N-Key Rollover for full- anti-ghosting functionality, an LED backlit mechanical keyboard has been released by Tesoro Technology. Named after the legendary sword of King Arthur, the Tesoro Excalibur keyboard features a 1,000Hz polling rate, registering every key.
RF transceiver targets Car-to-X applications
The second product from the company's RoadLINK range, NXP Semiconductors introduces the TEF510x dual radio multi band RF transceiver. Designed specifically for Car-to-X (C2X) applications, the transceiver provides OEMs with an optimised solution to meet 802.11p modem functionality with the flexibility to support global deployments and various system configurations.
