Wire-to-wire/board connectors are compact and cost-effective
Waterproof wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connectors, claimed to be compact and cost-effective, have been introduced by JST. The JWPS series have a seal ring that protects from moisture, dirt, scratches and cracks by sealing at the mating side in the header or tab housing, making them suitable for extreme moisuture and submersion applications.
This seal is made from rubber, while the tab contact is made from a copper alloy, making the connectors both compact and cost-effective. With a double spring construction and a 'sqeeze to release' locking system, the contact system provides contact force, preventing accidential unmating. This locking system is also internal to the housing, preventing contact back out and damage through handling external locking lances.
The contact system is rated at 6A and 300V (AC/DC), while the operating temperature range of the connectors is from -55 to +85°C. The JWPS series is available in 2-4 cicuits on with a 2.0 (contact to contact) and 4.0mm pitch and also row-to-row spacing for double row versions.
