The first complete connector portfolio for all Ethernet-based protocols has been announced by Belden from its Lumberg Automation product range. Supporting PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCat and Sercos, the portfolio includes single- and double-ended standard molded connector versions, field-attachable M12 and RJ45 connectors, and installation variants.
The new connectors from Belden are available with industrial protection class IP67, IP68 and IP69K, 360-degree shielding, a high level of shock and vibration resistance, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +90°C. Belden also offers various data and control cables are offered by the meter. Regardless of the respective Ethernet protocol, the connector portfolio allows flexible solutions for consistent data transmission from field and control level to management level.

There are D-coded and X-coded variants available support rates of up to 100 Mbit/s and 10 Gbit/s respectively. Where there are strong electromagnetic fields, special shielding versions are available which guarantee reliable data transmission.

Available in lengths of 2, 3, 5 or 10 m, the standard molded connector versions come with a jacket of polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride or Flame Retardant Non Corrosive. The connector housings are made of thermoplastic polyurethane. Resistant to oils, coolants, lubricants and emulsions, and in part torsion resistant, the connectors are approved for use in trains (DIN EN 50155) or UL-certified.

Christoph Widmann, product manager at Belden, commented: This applies irrespective of whether the data is transmitted via PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCat or Sercos. Our portfolio also allows users planning reliability and simple stockpiling.
