Suitable for high power applications, including servo motors, Brad M40 sized overmoulded cordsets have been introduced by Molex. This augments the company's circular connector overmoulded cordset portfolio, which stretches from M5 to M40 sizes, and extends Molex’s M40 offering, which includes field-attachable connectors and panel-mounted receptacles.

The cordsets feature a 71mm overmould length, one of the shortest in the industry, allowing use in space restricted applications. To ensure high reliability and performance even in the harshest of industrial automation environments, WSOR (Weld-Slag and Oil-Resistant) jacketed, shielded cables are used as standard. The cordsets are available in the standard lengths of 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10m.

The overmoulded M40 cordsets are available with 6-pole (3+2+PE) and 8-pole (4+3+PE) connector configurations in the de-facto industry standard. The power pins are each rated at up to 37A with the signal pins rated at 16A. With a quick and easy connection time of less than one minute, machine downtime is minimised and maintenance costs lowered. Being pre-assembled, wiring errors are mitigated while saving valuable time.

In addition, when mated, the cordsets have an IP-67 rating and are sealed to provide protection against local dust ingress and temporary submersion to depths of 1m. These Brad M40 overmoulded cordsets meet stringent requirements for reliability and performance in the harshest of industrial environments, including those found in welding applications, metalworking and machining processes involving cutting oil.
