Omnetics’ high density micro-miniature circular connectors
Omnetics has announced that its micro series circular connectors are now available with twist lock metal shells. The locking mechanism requires just a simple quarter turn - similar to the action commonly used in BNC connectors. When combined with a jacketed cable, Omnetics’ new high density circular connectors can be sealed to IP67 ratings.
The new twist lock circulars are available in sizes ranging from 2 to 27 positions and have contacts arranged on a 0.050in (.635mm) pitch. Utilizing a military-quality contact system these connectors are ideal for applications where size weight and rugged reliability are critical. Many standard and custom options are available including bulkhead mounts, cable harnesses, specialty metals and plating.
Current-carrying capability is 3A per contact, and dielectric withstand voltage is 600VAC RMS. Insulation resistance is 5000MΩ (min) at 500VDC; contact resistance is 26mΩ (65mV) (max) at 2.5A. Operating temperature range is -25 to 105degC and the connectors can withstand vibration forces of 20G and 30G shock without suffering any discontinuities of greater than 10µs.
