The latest addition to ITT Interconnect Solutions’ APD Aquatica range of connectors is a new design aimed to satisfy demand from the transportation and automotive industries. As the need to move away from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources grows, these industries are increasingly focussed on producing hybrid and electrical vehicles.
Safe connectors suitable for use in high voltage and maximum power applications are required: ITT Interconnect Solutions has responded by developing the APD 1-way finger protective connector. Robust and reliable, this new connector ensures maximum user safety as well as providing sealing up to IP69k and boasting an impressive price-performance ratio.

The APD 1-way finger protective connector is very easy to use and features a plastic cap which protects the user’s fingers. The connector receptacles mate with standard APD 1-way plugs and incorporate ITT ICS’s approved APD contact, crimp and coupling nut system. Pin contacts are available with standard crimp and additional screw or bolt terminations. The connectors suit cable cross sections from 16mm² up to 50mm².

Electrical specifications include voltage rating up to 400VDC in mated condition with an upgrade to 630VDC possible based on normative regulations (connectors must not be mated or unmated under load). Current rating is up to 245A at 25degC.
