Extending its range of high-temperature power inlets and outlets which meet IEC/UL 60320, SCHURTER has announced the 1681 series appliance inlets, as well as the 1658 and 1659 series straight and angled cord connectors. The devices are designed for use in equipment that operates in elevated ambient temperatures and/or with high currents, such as datacomms and portable industrial equipment such as heating systems.

The high-temperature appliance inlets and cord connectors are designed according to IEC for 16A at 250VAC, and for 20A at 250VAC according to UL/CSA. The pins are rated to reach a maximum temperature of +155°C.

The 1681 series high-temperature appliance inlet offers types for snap-in or screw-on mounting. The inlet can be specified with terminals for solder, quick-connect or screw connections. The cord connector comes in a straight, 1658 series, and an angled, 1659 series, design. Cables with a conductor cross-section of up to 2.5mm2 or 10AWG can be used.

The appliance inlets and cord connectors also meet the requirements of IEC 60335-1 for household appliances, which covers enhanced requirements of glow wire tests for unattended household appliances according to IEC 60695-2-12 and -13. The IEC high-temperature appliance inlet and the cord connectors are RoHS and CHINA-ROHS compliant.
