Hypertac introduces an innovative range of durable blind-mate Gigabit Ethernet capable contacts designed for use in demanding railway coupler applications. Hypertac has successfully introduced application specific high speed contacts designed to be installed in existing coupler hardware to allow easy upgrade of communication systems.
Hypertac's high endurance high speed contacts feature the well proven hyperboloid socket technology that provides low and stable contact resistance, reduced mating and de-mating forces, immunity to fretting corrosion during vibration, and proven electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance for operational life in excess of 25,000 mating cycles. The integrity and high reliability of the Hypertac design provides System Installers with unrivalled performance, low maintenance costs and low cost of ownership.

Contact designs are available as differential impedance controlled twinax, quadrax, or coaxial formats and can be tailored to suit specific industry standard cable structures and geometries. Contacts are designed to be cable terminated in the field or workshop using standard application tooling and are fully compliant with the requirements of EN50155, EN 50121, EN 61373, and DIN 5510/2 specifications.

Hypertac employs a dedicated team of Design Engineers to design and develop high speed interconnect solutions that uses the latest CST Microwave Studio © simulation/prediction software to optimise designs for data signal integrity, reduce development time and time to Market. The design performance is verified using time and frequency domain analyzers to ensure that the characteristic impedance and RF performance levels are achieved.

Full verification and quality testing covers vibration, mechanical shock, sealing against moisture ingress, RF performance, durability, thermal shock, salt spray, and EMC integrity.
