Hermaphroditic connectors are suited for harsh environments
Suited for harsh environments where moisture and high vibration may be present, a selective gold-plating option has been announced by TE Connectivity for its standard hermaphroditic blade and receptacle connectors. The SMT, board-to-board version of the hermaphroditic blade and receptacle connector reduces inventory requirements with a single connector that mates to itself.
In addition, the wire-to-board connector mates to the new part number series in a typical LED lighting application, providing power into the first board in a string of rigid PCB LED light strips.
The connectors help speed assembly time with a low profile, reflow compatible design available in tape and reel packaging.
