An updated version of the company's popular KC2800, KEC has announced the KCS2800 EMC backshell. It is highly cost-effective and provides high levels of protection of overall and individual screening and a combination of both. This backshell is a standard version using the most common format chosen by customers, resulting in an economy of scale which yields significant price reductions.

Using technologies developed from the demanding defence and aerospace industries, the KCS2800 incorporates the proven interweave metal braid technique, originally pioneered and patented by KEC. The result is a short, lightweight product that will provide cost-effective screening for applications in KEC’s traditional rail, defence and aerospace markets but will also embrace many commercial and industrial applications.

No special tooling is required, the product is completely re-workable and the interweave braid technique means that a single size entry backshell can be used over a wide range of cable bundle sizes. Although the KCS2800 will suit many applications it may also serve as a highly cost-effective development product for complex design programmes where the KC2800, in one of its specialist forms, may be specified for production quantities.
