A range of latching DC plugs and sockets, which prevent critical power loss in applications such as data monitoring, emergency lighting and equipment charging, has been introduced by Cliff Electronics. Secured by a simple push and turn locking mechanism, the devices are rated for 2A at 16VDC and available in diameters of 2.1 or 2.5mm.

Featuring a normally closed contact operated by inserting a plug, the PCB mountable sockets have a minimum insulation resistance of 100MΩ at 500VDC and a dielectric withstand voltage of 500VAC for 1 minute.

John Hall, General Manager, Cliff Electronics, said ”These latest additions to our expanding range of low voltage 2-pole DC plugs and sockets follow the success of our dual gauge DC sockets, which accept both 2.1mm or 2.5mm diameter plugs in a single socket.”
