Molex is pleased to be participating at the 2012 Industrial Automation North America Global Automation & Manufacturing Summit, which takes place September 10th -15th at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. The week long event offers a strategic look at issues vital to the success of manufacturing operations worldwide. The Molex booth (E4301) will showcase Brad Automation solutions for communications, connectivity and power.
Additionally, Molex global business manager Rick Griffin is scheduled to present in the IANA session Stay Ahead of the Technology Curve at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12th. His technical presentation covers the topic of proven automation strategies for combining three phase power, communications and control power into one integrated connection to support infrastructure for “ON MACHINE” control systems.

“Join us to explore design strategies for building and installing a fully integrated automation system that includes passive media, network solutions and power products,” states Griffin, Molex.

Brad Solution Showcase—Molex 2012 IANA summit (exhibit booth 4301)

Both the Molex exhibit and presentation feature the extensive Brad portfolio of advanced products for demanding and complex machinery used to leverage manufacturing efficiencies in a range of industries—industrial, automotive, packaging, oil refineries, food and beverage, and more. At IANA, Molex will preview the soon-to-be-released Brad M12 watertight (IP67) power connectors, which can handle up to 12.0 Amps and deliver three times the power for high performance in the most demanding applications. Other Brad products to be highlighted at the Molex booth include:

-Brad Ultra-Lock M12 EX Connection System providing factory and process automation installers a safe, quick connection interface for instrumentation and control devices in potentially explosive Class I, Division 2 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. Ultra-Lock M12 connectors feature patented push-to-lock technology for simple, secure non-arcing connection points.
-Brad Micro-Change M12 CAT6A Connector System with innovative x-code cross-shielding achieves superior signal integrity and up to 10 Gbps Ethernet for vision systems and other high-speed data transfer applications in harsh environments. Conforming to IEC 61076-2-109, the M12 CAT6A connector version delivers superior signal integrity and speed in the M12 form factor.
-Brad 6-Pole & 8-Pole Micro-Change M12 Circular Hybrid Technology Connectors offer high signal integrity and excellent performance with rugged IP67-sealing. Combining power and data lines in one M12 connector, Micro-Change CHT connectors feature a reduced footprint and lower installation and cabling costs in process and automation control and industrial applications, HVAC systems, telecom infrastructure, vision systems and surveillance cameras, commercial transportation, and military/aerospace applications.
-Brad HarshIO Ethernet/IP and PROFINET modules support faster tool changes and power-up in industrial robotic applications. By achieving faster tool changeovers and quick power up, manufacturers can reduce the number of robots required per cell, while greatly improving the speed and efficiency of their production cycles.
-Brad PC-Based Network Interface Cards deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-speed communications and control for a multitude of industrial protocols used for process control in critical manufacturing robot control and more. Offering intelligent communications, NIC cards are suitable for various computer bus formats, including PCI Express, PCI, PC/104 Plus, USB and VME directly to industrial networks, in addition to DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and Profibus.

“The manufacturing industry trusts the Brad name to endure and meet the toughest standards, while delivering advanced features like anti-vibration technology and convenient, secure connections that help maintain system performance, minimize downtime and simplify maintenance,” adds Griffin.
