Contact is cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets
Expanding the company's EZ-BoardWare PCB socket portfolio, Harwin has added a contact accommodating 0.8-1.5mm diameter mating pins. Suited for high volume applications, the EZ-Board sockets are a cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets. The components are supplied in industry-standard tape & reel packaging, allowing them to be automatically placed to minimise cost.
Accelerate your time-to-market for USB 3.1 Type-C connectors
Enabling manufacturers to immediately develop USB 3.1 Type-C connectors and quickly get them to market, Lattice Semiconductor has introduced a USB 3.1 Type-C power delivery solution. It addresses all the critical power-related functions required by the USB 3.1 Type-C specification, which defines very small jacks suited to mobile devices.
AVX publishes interactive connector selector guide
Offering a comprehensive overview of the company's 46 innovative industrial connector solutions,AVX has published an interactive 'Industrial Connector Selector Guide'. The guide is organised by application (wire-to-board, board-to-board, wire-to-wire and specialty) and embeds links to application specific product catalogues and individual series datasheets.
2.54mm un-shrouded headers support 50 mating cycles
Capable of supporting a wide variety of board-to-board applications, the EconoStik 2.54mm range of un-shrouded headers has been introduced by FCI. The headers are available in single-row and double-row with vertical through-hole, right-angle through-hole and vertical SMT versions and pin counts up to 72 positions.
Two-part power elements are discounted in online shop
The PowerTwo Power Elements, designed for screw-type technologies on circuit boards, are now available in Würth Elektronik's Original Power Elements Online Shop. The two-part power elements are press-fitted rather than soldered and can, therefore, be used at high temperatures. With the elements, stable connection and mounting on the circuit board is enabled without any additional stress.
Industrial connector hoods increase flexibility
Expanding the Han-Compact series of industrial connector hoods, HARTING has released a plastic version featuring combined straight and lateral cable outlets. Since only one type number need be used for several different applications, the hood enables increases flexibility in mounting arrangements and simplifies ordering and logistics.
SMB jack is customised for a defence contractor
A custom SMB jack coaxial connector for a defence contractor has been designed by Aviel Electronics, a division of RF Industries. Designed to be attached to a piece of test equipment, the panel mounted SMB jack features a threaded passivated stainless steel type 303 body and hex nuts.
Vertical SMT modular jacks feature Kapton tape
In order to ease automatic vacuum pick-and-place processes on PCBs, Molex has added Kapton tape to its family of vertical SMT modular jacks. By adding a Kapton tape surface to the top side of the connector, the modular jacks streamline high-volume production and lower manufacturing costs in industries such as telecomms, consumer, medical, industrial and commercial.
Heavy duty connectors designed to replace splices
Designed to replace splices and provide power wherever needed, Amphenol has introduced a heavy duty connector series for sizes 8 and 12 power contacts. The single pole, rugged, in-line connection system, designated the ATHD series, uses the company's exclusive Radsok technology to reach higher amperages than other connectors in its class.
Waterproof connectors are used within the Jubilee River
The TeePlug TH384 series waterproof connectors from Hylec-APL, have been supplied for use on a weir at the head of the Jubilee River. The river, which is man-made, is used to divert water away from the Thames and prevent flooding around Windsor, Eton and Maidenhead. The connectors have been specified to facilitate quick replacement of the transducers which monitor the position of the weir's hydraulic cylinders, ensuring the flood defence's reliab...
