Farnell element14 has launched the EcoCable and EcoFlex range from Alpha Wire. Utilising the innovative 100% recyclable mPPE insulation found in EcoWire, EcoCable and EcoFlex are designed to be up to 65% lighter and 47% smaller, with up to 91% lower outgassing than traditional PVC cable and capable of handling temperature extremes to -50°C.

The Lite-Trap connectors offer the lowest profile (4.20mm) available of similar wire-removable types. Other lower-profile versions are permanent one-time connection types that do not allow wire removal.

Hirose has developed the DF63 connector, a robust wire-to-board connector that combines small size with high-current capacity and high reliability. Featuring a 3.96mm pitch, the DF63 Series connector provides a high current rating of up to 15 amps and is suitable for use with #16 to #18 AWG wire. Current capacity varies with pin count and wire size. This compact DF63 Series connector features up to 30% reduction in occupied board area compared to competing products.

Hi-rel connectors from Harwin now available off-the-shelf with 40A power contacts
Harwin has doubled the current rating of the power contacts available for use in its Datamate Mix-Tek mixed-technology connector series from 20A to 40A. More, up to 12 of the new high current contacts can be used in one Datamate Mix-Tek housing, with devices spec’d for use at high temperatures up to +150degC (with derating).

As an example of a recent design that was turned around in eight weeks, a customer approached GCT to provide an RJ45 modular jack with a very small width sidewalls, their application didn’t have the space to accept a standard size connector.

Atex Field Bus connector meets device group II category 3G

TTI is now taking orders for Amphenol’s Atex Field Bus range designed for device group II category 3. According to EN60079-15 the devices may be operated within zone 2 and class I, Division 2, as low power non sparking connectors. Main target applications are aerospace & defence, oil & gas, process control, as well as factory automation.
