When AB Incubators were looking for a control box for their incubator housings there was no competition, “Spelsberg’s tough TK enclosures were the right size, the right colour, and fitted the overall high specification of our incubator units” commented managing director Richard Edgell.

“The high tech incubators incorporate the Spelsberg TK enclosures, known for their resistance to extreme environments, and have boosted the chances of survival of endangered species in North America, Asia, Australasia and Africa”.

Spelsberg TK enclosures have been used in the A B Incubators supplied to the Saudi Royal Family – to incubate Falcon eggs which are reared for hunting. Other incubator applications include New Zealand’s Wildlife Department, Thailand conservation projects and Adelaide Zoo.
The hand-built compact incubators are used for zoos, conservation agencies and bird breeders in more than 50 countries and their success comes from a combination of specialist knowledge and incorporating the latest technology, to make equipment that can incubate anything from a hummingbird's pea-sized egg to a 1.6Kg (3.5lb) monster laid by an ostrich!

The machines can be adapted to nurture reptile eggs, and have been used in Indonesia for conservation-based research on the largest of all lizards, the Komodo Dragon (Varanus komoensis) which grow up to 3m (10ft) long.
