6-Inch Smart AC Axial Fans Providing 30% Energy Savings
Orion Fans has today revealed the release of a new 6-inch energy-efficient AC fan series with smart thermal controls. A new addition to the OA172 Series, the temperature controlled smart AC axial fans feature a ball-bearing design that delivers airflows of 105 to 200 CFM with significantly reduced noise levels of 37.5 to 50.8dB.
Similar in function to Orion’s DC smart fans, the OA172 Series’ smart thermal control reduces power consumption by increasing or decreasing fan speed according to the ambient air temperature. This results in up to a 30% energy savings versus similar sized single-speed fans. In addition, the 6-inch OA172 Series smart AC fan only requires a simple AC input, rather than additional power supply requirements for a DC fan.
“The smart thermal control included in the OA172 Series fans makes them the most energy efficient fans available on the market,” said David Luna, Orion Fans’ product marketing manager. “In additional to its superior performance, the ball bearing design provides significant noise reduction without affecting the cooling power of the fan, making it more desirable for a number of applications.”
Measuring 172mm x 51mm, the 6-inch OA172 Series AC axial fans feature an impedance and thermally-protected motor, and an aluminum alloy frame with a UL94V-0 plastic impeller. The fans are provided with AWG18 , UL1015 lead wires.
The OA172 Series fans are available in shaved side and round frames in both 120VAC and 230VAC. Rated power for the OA172 Series ranges from 20W to 32W at 115V. Rated speeds range from 1600 to 2600 RPM, the fans feature an operating temperature range from -10°C to +70°C. The small volume OEM price for each fan is $45.00.
